Subject: Job Opening – Staff Assistant
STAFF ASSISTANT – Liberal West Coast Democrat needs a front desk person to perform the usual front desk tasks: answer phones, sort mail, schedule/give Capitol tours, train interns, and generally make the office user-friendly for constituents and visitors who come by. Think: Pebble Beach concierge. That’s the kind of service we want at our front desk! A yes-sir, can-do attitude! No task to small to perform (but no tips allowed – ethics rules, you know). If you have dreamed of getting into public service at the most grass roots level, this job is for you. Please note – this is all about serving constituents; it is not about legislative work. Those dreams of public service have to be about giving Capitol tours, not writing the next great landmark policy. This is a tightly-knit (some might say tightly wound) staff, lots of fun to work here. Salary: $28,000. E-mail resume and creative cover letter to Rochelle.dornatt@mail.house.gov.
Please include “Front Desk Job” in the “subject” line. Absolutely no phone calls. Resumes need to be in no later than Noon on Thursday, June 11. Following these instructions is your first test! Staring date for the job is soon.
