This is a highly responsible supervisory and managerial work assuring the safe and timely delivery of cleaning services within the Senate wing of the U.S. Capitol during the night. Work includes assuring the quantity and quality of work performed and an efficient, cost effective operation. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring adequate staffing, appropriate equipment in good working condition, and sufficient supplies to support the routine activities and special projects of cleaning and labor crews. Work includes developing and implementing effective policies, guidelines and procedures for the care and maintenance of the Senate Chamber, areas surrounding the Chamber, all public areas, Senate side Capitol offices and meeting rooms. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Capitol Facilities Branch Manager. This position will have the opportunity to utilize his/her skills and talents to: Develop a quality conscious team by utilizing proper selection, training and coaching skills, develop and implement institutional cleaning processes and procedures that utilize current methods and technology including “green cleaning”, foster a quality customer focus by soliciting feedback and measuring outcomes, and ensure exceptional cleanliness of all areas on the Senate side of the Capitol. Investigative counsel and staff will work with a team of attorneys and in conjunction with finance experts and economists to investigate all aspects of the U.S. Department of Treasury’s TARP activities, including the use of TARP funds, the impact of TARP on financial institutions and markets, the transparency and fairness of the Treasury Department’s administration of TARP, and the effectiveness of foreclosure mitigation efforts.
