FOREIGN POLICY INTERNSHIP IN RUSSIAN & EURASIAN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL ENERGY POLICY
A highly competitive, full time paid internship with Dr. Ariel Cohen, Senior Research Fellow, Russian and Eurasian Studies, at the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Institute for International Studies at the Heritage Foundation, a leading public policy institute, focusing on Eastern European, Russian and Eurasian and European affairs and international energy policy.
The selected intern will participate in research and administrative work in the Foundation’s Russia and Eurasia programs, focusing on the Former Soviet Union and international energy security issues. In particular, interns will focus on US-Russian and US-NIS relations, transition to markets and democracy, oil and gas pipeline security around the world, and radical Islam.
Interns will prepare research briefs, provide literature reviews, talking points and draft presentations. Interns will also work with the supervising researchers on preparation of seminars, conferences, media activities and public speaking engagements.
Academic credit possible but must be discussed on case-to-case basis. Access to numerous networking opportunities, lectures, receptions and policy luncheons in and outside Heritage will be available. Graduate students and graduates are particularly welcome.

-Serve as State Administrator of the CDP Voter File, overseeing timing

-Serve as primary staff contact for all county parties and campaigns
on technical questions concerning the use of the CDP Voter File.
-Develop training programs for use of the CDP Voter File, including
written guides, video/multimedia presentations, online training
sessions, and/or in-person training sessions.
-Train staff of the House Majority Project and Democratic Senate
Campaign Fund so that they are fully proficient in use of the CDP
Voter File and related targeting data and can support state house and
state senate campaigns.
-Manage all CDP internet applications including web sites, blogs,
online contribution software, email lists and any other applications
and oversee use of these applications to achieve the CDP’s strategic
goals.
-Advise and assist county parties and Democratic candidates in
obtaining effective, inexpensive internet applications for their own
outreach and campaign efforts.
-To the extent permitted by available resources, assist county parties
in developing internet applications on CDP server platforms.
-Maintain CDP office technology infrastructure including but not
limited to servers, workstations and network so that the office
effectively supports the goals of CDP staff and volunteers.
-As needed, advise CDP staff in effective use of technology to achieve
their respective responsibilities.
-As needed for CDP events like biennial re-organization and caucus and
assembly/convention meetings, develop custom technology solutions to
meet the needs of these events.
-Oversee all purchasing of additional technology assets for the CDP.
-In even-numbered years, assist coordinated campaign director in
setting up IT infrastructure for the campaign.
QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced, ideally expert, knowledge of VoteBuilder is essential. Some
knowledge of web-based content management applications and basic
ability to troubleshoot common operating systems and software problems
is required. Knowledge of database management programs (e.g. Access,
mysql, MS SQL) is very helpful. Knowledge of web development /
scripting languages (e.g. XHTML, XML, CSS, PHP) is very helpful.
COMPENSATION
Salary commensurate with experience, plus health and dental benefits.

The Tank – a non-profit venue for performing arts and public affairs – is seeking new Associate Curators for Public Affairs. The Deputy Advocacy Director will working closely with the Advocacy Director to lead a team of Regional Field Directors, and will be an integral part of a fast-moving, hard-working, and highly-flexible team for a rapidly-growing organization.
Core Qualifications:
- At least two cycles of professional advocacy and/or electoral campaign management
- Expertise in managing a field staff, field organizing, event production, advance, and strategic planning

The Press Secretary will also coordinate efforts and share responsibilities with coalition partners.

Job Description & Responsibilities
The Energy Program Analyst will provide performance evaluation support to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. The Energy Program Analyst will assist in managing a DOE grant reporting software system designed to monitor energy programs funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The Energy Program Analyst will work in a fast-paced office and will respond to requests from senior-level management through written reports and oral presentations. Given the major ramp-up of EERE programs as a result of the Recovery Act, the Energy Program Analyst will have the opportunity to suggest creative solutions to new demands on the Office.
Responsibilities may include:
- Design concise online reports and user interfaces to handle large amounts of data

Qualifications Required
