The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) in Bethesda, Maryland seeks a Director, Legislative Affairs.
Position involves: representing association legislative positions to Members of Congress; tracking legislation; attending hearings, inter-industry meetings, political fund-raising functions; drafting position papers; participating in annual legislative issues conference; some travel to association meetings; some public speaking.
Skills needed: people-oriented personality; ability to interact and negotiate effectively and harmoniously with others; to analyze detailed information quickly, objectively and accurately; to speak and write clearly and grammatically; to organize time and multi-task under pressure; knowledge of federal legislative and executive processes; ability to use word processing, database and spreadsheet software. Construction industry knowledge a plus.
Salary dependant on qualifications and experience. Outstanding benefit package.
