NAACP Regional Field Director
The Regional Field Director is responsible for overseeing field
operations in one of seven NAACP multi-state regions. The RFD
provides support for, and direction to, NAACP state conferences,
branches and youth & college divisions. She/he will provide support
in the form of trainings, leadership development, advocacy for
regional units within the larger NAACP family, as well as supporting
region-wide member needs. Mobilize NAACP units, members, people of
color and allies within the region to engage in grassroots and
legislative organizing and civic participation on targeted campaigns.
Reporting to the National Field Director, RFD will:
o Coordinate and/or conduct Executive Leadership Training
o Work to increase youth activism and engagement within the State
Youth & College divisions
o Provide advice and counsel to unit leadership on effective
operations, NAACP goals and policies.
o Implement advocacy and civic participation campaigns on key issues,
and establish alliances to integrate non-members into NAACP campaigns,
with measurable accountability standards.
o Coordinate the efforts of regional, multi-state Field Organizers who
may be hired to work on specific campaigns.
• Support the work of NAACP departments in their engagement with the
region, including: ‘
o Assist Membership Division with organizing strategies implemented by
state and local units.
o Problem-solving with NAACP Constituent Services at the Regional
level.
o Provide support for the NAACP’s disaster relief efforts within a
region.
• Provide National Field Director with monthly and quarterly progress
reports for strategic goals and organizing/advocacy activity of state
and local units, and other related duties as assigned by the National
FD.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from an accredited college or
university.
• At least five years of management experience, preferably in a non-
profit organization.
• Extensive experience directing large, complex organizing campaigns.
• Experience in membership-building and recruitment.
• Experience in setting and achieving measurable targets, managing
teams, and coordinating between multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to handle multiple priority projects and meet established
timelines and reporting requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to execute strategic goals and work effectively with state
and local leaders.
• Excellent analytical, presentation and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel extensively.

National Field Director: Job Description
The Roosevelt Institute Campus Network seeks a creative, experienced Field Director to develop, manage and oversee its grassroots efforts to create progressive change. The Campus Network empowers young people nationwide to campaign around youth-generated policy ideas to address local, state, and national challenges. The Field Director will be responsible for increasing the Campus Network’s depth, through the expansion of membership at existing chapters, and its breadth, through the establishment of new chapters in target areas nationwide. The Field Director will design and execute organizing trainings, assist in designing and leading initiatives, and otherwise empower the Network to be maximally effective at engaging, empowering, and promoting the next generation of American leaders to create progressive change.
The Field Director will train, manage, and support more than twenty staff nationwide, help to disseminate best practices, chapter models, and projects to chapters nationwide, and travel to chapters across the country for trainings, chapter development, and campaign support. Additionally, the Field Director will be responsible for relationship building with key partner organizations, and the measurement of progress towards the Campus Network’s membership and impact goals.
The Field Director will be a full-time position based in New York City. Salary is commensurate on experience with full benefits included.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute the design of an innovative, student-led field engagement model for the entire Roosevelt Campus Network
• Facilitate the development and distribution of all essential training resources and tools (website, outreach materials, recruitment strategy, organizing training materials, etc.)
• Check-in weekly with staff members nationwide and conduct regular site visits with developing chapters to evaluate progress and provide support
• Assist with the development of Campus Network campaigns around student ideas
• Work with chapter members nationwide to aid in recruitment strategies and provide ongoing training, consultation and coordination to maximize impact nationwide
• Track progress towards campaign organizing goals by managing the Network’s reporting & communication process
• Monitor National Field and distribute “State of the Network” updates to the Campus Network Director and members of the Student Advisory Board
• Collaborate closely with and support the Deputy Field Director in all efforts
• Provide guidance, expertise and assistance to student staff on organizing and policy engagement
Skills and Background:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required plus direct field management experience
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse communities and young people
• Experience in coalition-building and an ability to recognize and develop the diverse strengths of different kinds of organizations and organizers for one cause

The Public Interest Network is seeking a National Field Director. The National Field Director is a new position for the network. We are looking for senior level candidates with strong field organizing experience.
Background
The Public Interest Network founded more than a dozen civic organizations including: U.S. PIRG, the Federation of State Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs); Environment America and its state affiliates; Center for Public Interest Research; Environmental Action; the Student Empowerment Training Project; Toxics Action Center; Pesticide Watch; Green Century Capital Management; Green Corps; National Environmental Law Center; and Frontier Group.
The Public Interest Network evolved from collaborations among the state PIRGs, which began actively sharing ideas and combining efforts in the early 1980s. One of the earliest and most lasting results of these collaborations was the launch of our shared canvass model, and we have continued to take advantage of our shared resources and coordination to build and refine one of the nation’s most robust field operations, with grassroots and grass-tops political power in all 50 states. Now, as in our early days, each member organization within the Public Interest Network works on its own agenda according to its own strategy with its own base of support. Member groups share a model for organizational success that emphasizes goal-setting, accountability and sustainable expansion. We work together to identify, recruit and train the next generation of leadership for the public interest movement, and when new opportunities or challenges arise, we meet them
together, sharing resources, ideas and technical expertise.
Top priorities for the position
• Advance best practices throughout our organizations, including development and deployment of new technologies (e.g. the VAN, IPads, IPods, etc.), as well as development and improvement of field work models.
• Develop and oversee a plan to build field depth and breadth in all 50 states for Public Interest Network organizations – with the focus on building strong state campaigns and organizations.
Job responsibilities include
• Advancing best practices and developing field work models
o Catalog all of the Public Interest Network’s models of field work. These models include but are not limited to: canvassing, grass-tops field organizing, grassroots field organizing, voter registration, voter contact, student organizing, electoral organizing, and all other forms of citizen outreach that generate field campaign product.
o Evaluate and update Public Interest Network field models each year, using cost/benefit analysis and developing other tools to assess the programs in terms of management, product, and expense.
o Identify and evaluate new tools and methods for field organizing.
o Track developments in field work from other organizations and campaigns. Aggressively test promising ideas and find ways to implement them in Public Interest Network models.
o Develop new and better models for self-sufficient field campaigns.
o Train staff within the network on best field practices.
• Building field power in all 50 states
o Develop short and long range plans for building field power for Public Interest Network organizations in all 50 states.
o Facilitate coordinated field efforts of the network organizations through conference calls, emails, sharing of strategies.
o Represent the Public Interest Network for coordinating field efforts with other organizations and seeking out opportunities for collaboration.
o Maintain the organizations’ legislative and electoral field target chart.
• Fundraising from foundations, donors, and coalition partners to support existing and new field work to help us reach these goals.

Corporate Accountability International is seeking experienced organizers to build a nationwide network of Action Committees, made up of and led by members and activists committed to taking on corporate power. Join our 2 year program to recruit and mobilize the long-term political base and power needed to wage and win our corporate campaigns. Regional Campaign Organizers will start with a classroom training at Campaign Headquarters in Boston, followed by an 8 week field training in the Bay Area. Regional Campaign Organizers will then receive field assignments in multiple cities across the country, including Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, New Haven, Portland OR, San Francisco, or Seattle.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and lead regional Think Outside the Bottle campaign activities to pressure Governors, Mayors, restaurants and schools to curb bottled water use and invest in badly needed public water systems and infrastructure.
• Develop and lead regional campaign activities challenging McDonald’s and other fast food giants to stop driving an epidemic of diet-related diseases.
• Run signature gathering actions to find potential volunteers.
• Regularly set and hold a high volume of one-on-one meetings to recruit activists and raise funds.
• Develop leadership and strategic planning skills of Action Committee leaders to recruit and mobilize activists, wage direct pressure campaigns, build strong coalitions, and conduct effective media outreach to expose and challenge corporate abuses.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date files, records, and systems to build capacity for all our campaigns.
• Participate in organization-wide planning, fundraising and campaign activities.
• Develop a high skill level in all areas of work listed above.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Passion, commitment and determination to wage and win campaigns to stop corporate abuse.
