Poll - Debt Ceiling pt 2


The President addressed the nation on the consequences the stalemate in Congress could have on the stability of our economy and the debt ceiling crisis.

Speaker of the House John Boehner responded to President Obama’s special prime time address to the nation citing Washington’s “spending binge” as the reason for the debt ceiling crisis.

    Clearly, when Obama said, “We can’t afford to play this dangerous game,” he showed just how out of touch he is. The American people (not to mention the players and owners, who profit handsomely from gladiator sports) clearly want the NFL to play a full season, and don’t give a damn if that means a handful of (mostly second- and third-string) players will die and a few dozen more will be reduced to blathering because of multiple concussions! In the best defiant American tradition, the players union ratified the agreement shortly after the President spoke. The games will go on!

    Almost none of the people reading this will get to see any of the games, except on TV, because the taxpayers have bought up all the tickets. Actually, corporations and filthy rich tax-avoiding individuals have taken the money that would have gone to taxes and used it to buy tax-deductible season tickets. Such legerdemain has the country bankrupt, but that’s another issue.
