The American Constitution Society (ACS), one of the nation’s leading
progressive legal organizations, seeks a recent graduate with an
interest in a career in the development profession to serve as an
energetic and versatile Assistant Director of Development.

Responsibilities will include working as a part of the Development
team on the major donors program, annual national convention,
fundraising events, as well as working closely with ACS’s lawyer
chapter staff to realize the fundraising potential of ACS’s national
network of members.  The Assistant Director of Development will work
closely with senior staff to establish and meet fundraising goals.

Job responsibilities include:

• Managing the ACS national convention, including event logistics,
registration, and soliciting sponsorships;

• Helping to build the major donors program by researching and
identifying potential donors and managing and maintaining the donor
database;

• Assisting in the planning and execution of fundraising events around
the country;

• Preparing high quality communications; and

• Working with the Development team on a broad range of fundraising
duties.

The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality, excellent
interpersonal and organizational skills, strong attention to detail,
event planning experience, curiosity and initiative, and good writing
skills.  A bachelor’s degree is required, and campaign, development,
or other organizing experience is highly desirable.  Some travel for
meetings and events will be required.  ACS offers a competitive
