D.C. natives LIONIZE are some of the hardest working people in show business. For months now, they’ve “sailed the concrete sea” across our United States – earning legions of enthusiastic fans and rocking their hearts out in every city they visit.
Last Tuesday, the band’s touring van hit a patch of black ice in Oregon – and while nobody was hurt, their vehicle (along with their trailer, and a lot of their gear) was totaled. These guys are seriously talented – and as full-time touring musicians, you can imagine what kind of effect this accident has had on their entire operation.
Despite everything, the band has not asked anyone for money, generated a kickstarter campaign, or anything of the sort.
So, we at Cloture Club say you should check out LIONIZE’s music free of charge (below). Or at http://us.myspace.com/lionize. Their soulful, bluesy-reggae-rock tunes are highly original, grooveable, engaging and full of irie hooks.
If you like what you hear (we’re confident you will), then consider supporting them in any way you see fit. You can buy their awesome stuff directly at http://www.lionizemusic.com/. They’ll be back in D.C. for a hometown show at the 930 club on December 16th (you can count on us being there), and they have a new album coming out December 6th. This ain’t no charity case, friends – this band is actually awesome. Boom!
