I stumbled across an interesting food kiosk this past weekend while strolling through the newly opened Union Market, named TaKorean. They serve up some very tasty Korean BBQ Tacos at an affordable price.
These high quality tacos are made from scratch and there are three types to choose from: Bulgogi Steak, Tangy Chicken or Caramelized Tofu. Note that the tofu tacos are vegan friendly.
The flavors of the tacos were delicious. The homemade marinades are superb and they lend the meat their sweet and spicy Asian flavors like ginger and soy sauce. The tofu is marinated in hoisin and was a tad on the salty side, but if you are a fan of salt this is a great choice.

Two types of slaw are available to dress your tacos. I liked the Spicy Kimchi Style Slaw the best. It was garlicky as expected and had a nice heat to it. The Napa-Romaine Slaw was also good and it was marinated in rice vinegar, sesame oil and lime. Very tangy!
Once you choose your filling and slaw you can choose toppings such as fresh cilantro, the ubiquitous Sriracha Chili Sauce and sesame seeds. If you want to cool down the heat you can have a drizzle of lime crème on top as well.
At the price of one taco for $3.50 or three tacos for $9 they fit every budget. A delicious East meets Southwest lunch. They also have a food truck and you can follow it through Twitter and Facebook: @taKorean.

Found the kimchi slaw timid; the corn tortillas overwhelmed it. Needs more spice or a bland wrapper (flour tortilla, rice pancake).
