Music Spotlight: Fellowcraft

Nestled not so quietly on the bustling streets of Shaw is a rock band that you’ve probably never heard of. Fellowcraft is a three piece rock and roll band that can only be described as energetic. Born in a studio apartment, complete with at least a half dozen noise violations is a rugged sense of individualism, energy, and defiance, they specialize in entertaining the masses.  Fellowcraft’s message is simple, dance, head-bang, and enjoy yourself.

At the tail end of the summer Fellowcraft serenaded the huddled masses as the headliner for the Rock and Roll in the sky event, hosted by Bozzuto, Cloture Club, and Right Proper Brewing. Local Musicians, such as Addieville and Friends, and even B Side Shuffle’s Geoff Browning showed up in support, and wooed the crowd with rock and roll in the shadow of DC’s monumental skyline.

Their original work has an up-tempo bluesy rhythm. Jon Ryan, Fellowcraft’s Front-man and lead singer, who some of you may know as this website’s Fashion and Lifestyle contributor believes in writing about what you know. That means when you go to a Fellowcraft show you’re going to hear a lot about heartbreak, self reliance and preservation, laments about his time spent in a small town on the band’s Original ‘West Texas Blues’.

You can catch Fellowcraft next Friday at the Treehouse Lounge at 8pm. Tickets are available at http://bit.ly/1COdlBf — 10$ Advance, $13 day of the show – 21+
