Join me and the NAACP for an important lunch forum featuring the work of a dynamic African American investigative filmmaker, Keith Beauchamp, and the commitment of Discovery Communications’ Investigation Discovery Channel to launch the premiere of “The Injustice Files” on Thursday, February 9th, from 12-2PM in Rayburn House Office Building Room B-338.

“Injustice Files”, hosted by Keith Beauchamp, examines modern day hate crimes in an attempt to find justice for the victims and their families. Please join us for lunch and a sneak peak of this 2-hour special which airs in late February.

Description: As national spokesperson for Wellness Week 2012, Mariel Hemingway will be joined by members of Congress on Capitol Hill for the unveiling of the Wellness Week Pledge, seven basic steps Americans can take to lead healthier and happier lives . Hemingway will invite Americans of all ages to take charge of their health by taking the Pledge as a first step on the road to wellness.

The event is part of Wellness Week 2012 (March 19 -25), a nationwide movement that will bring together spas, gyms, yoga and Pilates studios, and wellness businesses to host free workshops and offer discounted services and classes. By focusing on prevention, Wellness Week seeks to improve the lives of all Americans and reduce the long-term costs associated with chronic diseases such as obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

An Oscar-nominated actress for Woody Allen’s Manhattan, Hemingway is the author of several best-selling books including Finding My Balance and Healthy Living from the Inside Out.
